TintCo Canada Case Study: How Brand Awareness Grew a Canadian Window Film Supplier

A brand awareness case study: how M.Stark’s brand-first work for TintCo Canada reached 30,210 people, tripled August store traffic and lifted Q3 online sales about 70% over June.

TintCo Canada sells professional window tint film, tinting tools and installation supplies online to tint shops, mobile installers and do-it-yourselfers across Canada. It opened to customers in March 2026 in Winnipeg with a strong idea: a Canadian brand, built for Canadian installers, with stock on hand and fast shipping. What it did not have yet was a brand that installers recognised.

In June 2026 M.Stark became TintCo Canada’s official marketing partner. Our brief was brand development and awareness: give a young supplier a clear position, a look and voice of its own, and a name people in the trade remember. Growing sales was never the headline goal. It was the bonus that showed up anyway, and it is the clearest proof we have of how hard good branding works for a business.

This brand awareness case study covers July to September 2026, using TintCo’s Shopify and Meta Ads Manager data. TintCo has approved sharing these results. To keep its finances private, sales are shown as growth rates rather than dollar amounts.

The brief: build a brand installers trust

Installers buy film in volume and reorder every month, and they buy from suppliers they already know. For a company only a few months old, the job was not to push a discount. It was to become a name worth trusting.

  • Nobody knew the name yet. TintCo had opened only months earlier, and its Instagram account still had fewer than 100 followers.
  • No story, just a catalogue. Every supplier sells film. TintCo needed a clear reason to choose it, said the same way everywhere.
  • The product needs explaining. Carbon ceramic, nano ceramic, thickness and shade (VLT) all change the price and the result.
  • Two very different buyers. Shops care about stock and shipping times. DIY buyers need reassurance they are picking the right film.

Our thinking: brand first, sales follow

We started with one question: why would a busy installer switch suppliers? Not for a nicer logo. They switch when a supplier makes their week easier, and they only switch to a name they recognise and trust. So we built the brand around certainty (film in stock, fair prices, fast shipping), then made sure installers kept seeing it.

The strategyPosition, presence, proof.Three layers that turn a new supplier into a known brand.
01 · PositionThe Canadian supplier you can count onOne promise, said everywhere: stock, speed and support from a Canadian company.
02 · PresenceBe seen, again and againA brand film, short reels and an awareness campaign so installers meet TintCo more than once.
03 · ProofShow the product, explain the choiceOne film per creative and every ad on its own product page, so interest turns into understanding.

Position + Presence + Proof= a brand people come back to

1. Talk like an installer, not like an ad

Our text-message ad reads like one installer recommending a supplier to another: “I need tint supplies without waiting forever.” “You need TintCo Canada.” That is how the trade really finds suppliers. It is the same principle we cover in our guide to writing hooks for social media videos: open on the viewer’s problem.

2. Give the brand a story, not just a price list

The brand film puts real installers at the centre with one line: behind every clean tint job is the right film supplier. It positions TintCo as part of the installer’s craft, not just another place to buy rolls.

3. Sell certainty

Fewer suppliers can promise film is in stock and on its way quickly. Winnipeg sits in the middle of the country, which makes fast shipping east and west realistic, so every piece of content leads with fast Canada-wide shipping, clean products and a team that answers.

4. Awareness first, and measure it in the store

We ran Meta ads to introduce the brand, not to chase quick sales, and kept the budget small. Then we judged the work where it matters: store visits, product-page traffic and whether people came back on their own.

5. Look like a national brand from day one

One look and one voice across Instagram, product pages and ads helps a young company look established. In August we also announced the partnership publicly, so buyers checking out TintCo could see an agency standing behind it.

June: foundation

  • Signed TintCo Canada’s official marketing partnership on June 1, 2026.
  • Reviewed the store’s existing customers to understand who was buying: shops, mobile installers or DIY buyers.
  • Defined the positioning: a Canadian supplier built around stock, speed and support.
  • Set up measurement so the work could be judged in Shopify, not just in the ad account.

July: story

  • Produced the “Your Tint Shop’s Secret Weapon” brand film, the text-message ad and short product reels.
  • Published the text-message reel on July 15.
  • Online sales grew 54% on June and store sessions grew 22%, with a 2.19% conversion rate.

August: reach

  • Ran TintCo’s first Meta awareness campaign: four ads that reached 30,210 people.
  • Published the Nano Ceramic HP reel on August 12 and announced the partnership on LinkedIn on August 18.
  • Store sessions jumped 144% to 2,336 as thousands of installers met the brand for the first time. Sales grew another 17%.

September: recall

  • Kept the brand visible with organic reels for Carbon Ceramic (September 2) and “Think TintCo” (September 21) after the awareness campaign wrapped up.
  • With no paid campaign running, sales held steady within about 3% of August while the conversion rate climbed to 2.66%.
  • Sales from people coming straight to the store grew 145%, and Instagram showed up as a sales source in Shopify for the first time.

The awareness campaign: introducing TintCo to Canada

In August we ran TintCo’s first Meta awareness campaign across Facebook and Instagram. Its job was to introduce the brand to as many relevant people as possible and bring them to a product page. Its four ads reached 30,210 people and sent 1,265 visits to TintCo’s product pages at about $0.17 each.

The Carbon Ceramic ad did most of the work: in August the Carbon Ceramic product page became TintCo’s top landing page with 1,203 sessions, up from about 20 in July. Facebook went from 10 store sessions in July to about 1,000 in August, almost all of them new to the brand.

August: discovery

The awareness campaign brought thousands of first-time visitors. Sessions rose 144% and the conversion rate dipped to 0.77%, which is exactly what you expect when most visitors are meeting a brand for the first time. Sales still grew, and orders got 31% bigger as buyers moved up to the premium Nano Ceramic HP Series.

September: recall

September is where the branding paid off. With no paid campaign running, sales held steady and the conversion rate more than tripled to 2.66%, the best of the quarter. People who had discovered TintCo were now coming back ready to buy.

The awareness campaign took the brand far beyond its home city. Calgary became the store’s biggest source of visits in August and Edmonton grew more than fourfold, a strong signal that western Canada is ready for a fast, Canadian supplier.

What we learned: branding is a growth strategy

TintCo’s goal was brand awareness, and the sales growth that came with it is the best argument we know for investing in a brand early.

LessonsBe known first. Sales follow.
1Awareness first, conversion second

Conversion fell to 0.77% while thousands discovered the brand in August, then rose to 2.66% in September. Familiar brands convert better.

2A brand keeps working after the ads stop

With no campaign running in September, sales held steady and direct-visit sales grew 145%. The awareness paid off a month later.

3Explain the product and buyers trade up

A clear reason to pay more moved buyers to Nano Ceramic HP in August, and orders grew 31% larger.

4Consistency builds trust

One promise, one look and one voice on every channel made a months-old supplier look established, from Calgary to Montreal.

The mission behind the work

At M.Stark our tagline is Presence, Engineered. We don’t believe growth comes from one viral post or one discount. It comes from a brand people recognise and trust, built with strategy, creative and media working as one system.

Our mission

Turn dreamers into doers, and build growth that lasts.

M.Stark Marketing & Advertising · Winnipeg

TintCo Canada is a Winnipeg company with a national ambition: to be the Canadian name installers trust for film and tools. We set out to build that name, not to chase a sales spike. The fact that sales grew anyway, and held up after the ads stopped, is exactly why we believe every business, in any industry, should invest in its brand.

Frequently asked questions

Does brand awareness actually increase sales?

It did for TintCo Canada. The goal was awareness, yet Q3 sales averaged about 70% above June. In September, after the awareness campaign ended, sales held steady, conversion rose to 2.66% and sales from people coming straight to the store grew 145%.

How do you build a brand for a B2B or trade supplier?

Start with one clear promise that solves the buyer’s real problem, then repeat it everywhere. For TintCo Canada that was stock, speed and support from a Canadian company, told through a brand film, short reels and an awareness campaign.

Do Facebook and Instagram ads work for brand awareness in a niche industry?

Yes. TintCo Canada’s first Meta awareness campaign reached 30,210 people and drove 1,265 product-page visits at about $0.17 each, and store sessions rose 144% that month.

Why did the conversion rate drop and then rise?

In August most visitors were meeting TintCo for the first time, so conversion dipped to 0.77%. In September, people who already knew the brand came back, and conversion climbed to 2.66%, the best of the quarter.

Do you only work with Winnipeg businesses?

No. M.Stark is based in Winnipeg and works with e-commerce brands, restaurants, real estate teams, automotive businesses and service companies across Manitoba and Canada.
